Comments: I have the same problem. I can't use the CPC client to contribute to another project because I am behind a corporate firewall. Can the patch be verified and built?

I am unable to checkout any project's code using the codeplex client or TFS. It asks for my credentials, which I enter, and then it says "error: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation."

My computer is bound to a domain, but I have tried entering my details without domain information, but regardless of how I enter my login credentials I always get "error: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation."
Comments: Any update on this?

We have a build controller running on Windows Server 2003 R2 and the installation directory of the code metrics power tool is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Team Tools\Static Analysis Tools\FxCop\Metrics.exe not at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Team Tools\Static Analysis Tools\FxCop\Metrics.exe. This causes the code metrics workflow activity to not find metrics.exe and fail. To correct this, I added a static method to determine what architecture Windows is running on and either returns "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)".

I'm trying to help a community member upload a patch to our project: mbf.codeplex.com. The only Upload a Patch documentation we found uses CPC, but we are running into the authentication issues others have reported with CPC and TFS2010 projects. These issues were reported almost a year ago, so I wonder if CPC is simply not recommended for use in CodePlex anymore... Any other recommendations/instructions for creating and uploading patches?

The clients are saying that checkout operations are unauthorized when the correct username and password are given.

2. Try to checkout some code from a project via CPC.exe
3. Upon prompting for username and passoword, type in your valid username and password

Expected Output
Upon successful validation of credentials, user expects to checkout the source code

Actual Output
The error is thrown:
error: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.

** Imprtant: For published project checkout, it prompts user to enter credentials, which is not a correct beahvior. CPC should checkout code for published project w/o any prompting for user cred

The error is unnecessary, and the message is useless. It doesn't even tell me which XML file has the error. I had to look in the source code to find out. When I looked in the file, it seemed fine - there was no apparent error.

workaround: remove the file c:\users\<foo>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Codeplex Client\CredentialsCache.xml .

When I do a "cpc listprojects rasmuskaae" I received this error from cpc:

error: The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required (
The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web
Proxy filter is denied. ).

It would be nice to be able to configure this stuff ...

CodePlex.TfsLibrary.ObjectModel.WebTransferService.DownloadBytes fails on large files with an IOException (ErrorCode = 10055) "Unable to read data from the transport connection: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full."

I can reproduce this problem consistently when attempting to download files as small as 98362257 bytes on my machine.

Steps to reproduce:
1. start svnbridge
2. svn co URL-to-wc-containing-a-big-file

Expected results:
successful working copy creation
Actual results:
svnbridge crashes due to an unhandled IOException.

A simple fix would be to replace the two array initializations in DownloadBytes by a method call that returns an array whose size is the minimum of response.ContentLength and a sufficiently small upper bound (perhaps 1024).

In order to avoid limiting the buffer size arbitrarily, we could catch the IOException and search for the largest useful and safe buffer size, as in the attached patch.

Note that tests for the code my patch addresses don't pass in -r18098 (head currently), but if I apply this patch and then comment out the pre-existing code in the WebTransferServiceTest class, then all tests pass.
