Uploading initial source code...

Hi,

This is probably a real beginner's question, but does anyone know how to upload the initial source code for a project? I'm trying to start a project up and upload the source code, but am having a few difficulties using the cpc application as in I don't know which arguments to use to upload a new project rather than add/update selected files to an existing project.

I havn't tried using any of the other tools yet, but thought I'd give the CodePlex Source Control Client a try first.

Don't think of like a "new" project, think of it like an "existing" project with 0 files in it. :)

Start with a checkout of the project. This brings down the metadata so that you can do a bunch of adds of all the files you want to put into the project. (By the way, using "syncup" is much easier than doing all the adds by hand.)

Hey Brad,

Thanks for the tip - I didn't think of it that way before - makes sense now!
